This week I have been on Spring Break (teacher perk) and Daniel and I have just signed a new apartment lease! I am so excited to be moving into a much more open and bright space. We aren't moving until May but I am already in major planning mode. If you didn't already know I was a planner...you will. I am always looking ahead and constantly planning for whatever might be next in our lives. Right now my big idea is our apartment.
Currently we are going for the "just married we will use anything" look and so far we have been really happy with our little home, But after almost 3 years of marriage we are ready to start making our space really feel like it's ours.
I have always thought of my style as rustic-modern, but as I have been really thinking about the decor and pieces I want in my space I think I need to adjust my aesthetic. I'm now calling it vibrant-modern with rustic flare. We are from Texas and won't be tossing our antlers anytime soon. All of our furniture is very neutral and I want to bring in the right amount of color to spice it up! I have been really drawn to bright and bold colors. We will be keeping most of our big furniture pieces, so I'm looking to spend most of the budget on new accent pieces, a rug, pillows, and decor. The tricky part is finding that line between the right amount and too much color...there is definitely such a thing as too much.
We are still working within a budget and I feel like I have found some great deals in these pieces I'm sharing today. Let me know what you think of them and look forward to seeing more as our apartment vision comes to life over the next couple months.
Inspiration Pieces:

I love this bohemian style pouf as a piece that adds color and functionality. I think 2 would look great kept underneath a floating entertainment shelf in your living room. They would accent a plain wall, fill unused space, and can easily be pulled out to rest those tired feet. And at $39.00 it is a steal.

To easily make a statement in any space bring in a bold area rug. Depending on your space, pick a size that fits while not dominating the room. I love both of these rugs from Overstock. They are bold without being too wild. They each showcase one main color so that you dont have to worry too much about it clashing with other peices.
