Hey ya'll! Welcome to the Carolyn + Gayle offical blog. This is something we have been talking about for a while and now it's finally coming together. We were born and raised in Austin, TX and proud of it! Sarah loved it so much she stayed for college...Hook'em Horns! Rebecca decided to break the mold and head west to Lubbock...Wreck'em! Anyone with a sister knows...sharing is caring. So after growing up sharing EVERYTHING Rebecca packing up half of "our" closet for college was a wake up call. We weren't going to be able to share everything forever. We went from swapping clothes daily to admiring and coveting from a far. Of course we still swap and trade any chance we get, but we wanted to find a way to bring our closets closer again.
Rebecca graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in retail management and we'll both admit she's definitely the fashionista of the two of us. After school she moved to Ft. Worth and became the manager at a local boutique, Lane Knight. Meanwhile Sarah had graduted from UT, married the love of her life, followed him to Houston and become a teacher at The Parish School. While we were both working on living happily ever after we still missed living happily together.
Well this past fall Lane Knight decided to make a move and relocate to Austin. Rebecca wasn't quite ready to give up on her life in Ft. Worth...or a boy that lived there, so she changed careers completely and is now a legal assistant. While her career changed, her love for fashion did not. So she began sharing her favorite fashion trends on instagram! This quickly evolved into us sharing trends with eachother and collaborating on posts. So much so that we decided to be parters and Carolyn + Gayle was born.
We wanted to create a brand that represented us both equally. We are named for our Grandmothers, Rebecca Carolyn and Sarah Gayle. We put them together and loved how it sounded right away. The name has a special meaning for both of us and also honors two very imortant women in our lives.
Now we are able to not only share fashion trends and life happenings with each other, but with anyone who shares our love of fashion and life. We are so excited to start this adventure with each other, and hope you stick around to enjoy the ride!
